Beauty Rest

If you’re anything like me you don’t sleep *insert distressed face emoji*

After a car accident a few years ago, I suffered a concussion and it affected my sleep from that moment. Experiencing a loss exacerbated my sleeplessness, and I tried everything from kava-kava, epsom salt/baking soda baths, magnesium, aromatherapy, melatonin, and CBD oil which faired to be the best sleep aid.


My body rang a booming alarm, warning me about my tendency to convince myself I can function on 3-4 hours of sleep.

Various areas of my life were impacted, causing my metabolism to slow down so I gained weight, and it even caused partial seizures. I still struggle with this at times, but I am making an effort to breathe or practice relaxation techniques to help me wind down.


Sleep has a significant effect on the mind-body-soul connection. We need to rest our bodies, rest our minds, and recharge so that we can be functional.
